What the Botanist Saw, 2018
As part of their Wild Worlds festival in 2018, Chester Zoo commissioned us to design and build a series of Victorian 'peep show' style boxes. Part of our brief aimed to raise awareness of the botanical research and exhibitions the zoo has to offer. Combating 'plant blindness'. We designed, constructed and installed three coin-operated machines and worked in collaboration with Illuminos to create a series of short 3D animations, seen when viewers gazed through the viewfinder.
Thank you to everyone involved in the project:
Sam Petz for his design input and craftsmanship throughout the project.
Illuminos for their animations.
